I am trying to create a link in Property Agent View.Item.html file that ties into the Private Messages module. I have tried a couple of scenarios but with no luck. Is there a way to pass the USER ID in a string?
[USERID]/Default.aspx">[CUSTOM:ContactName]
It takes you to the page but the user name does not display inside the composed message.
Thanks for any help!

That's a great idea. I've had several projects that I could have used Property Agent for, if it had been out, and communicating with the agent or the office was a requirement. Nice.

Thanks Scott! I added the full URL with the [USERID] but when it goes the Private Messages module it does not add the user to the composed message.
Also, is it possible to add the “User” that is posting the listing in the URL like [POSTUSERID]. This way the user the makes the post he\she will receive the Private Message.

This works as well. I created a custom field called LoginName and added the token inside of the string. So when the user adds a new record he\she can enter their username and it will display automatically in the string.

The agent enhancements will make this a lot easier because it will have a [USERID] token.
This will save you using the custom field for login. |

| There is a [USERNAME] token, are you following the article on how to link it up? |

Hi Scott, thanks for that.
Out of interest, i am also using Smart-Thinker User Profile and I was wondering if it was possible to use a similar method to the above to link to the posting members Profile.
I've had a go but not managed to get it working so far. I think the problem is that [USERNAME] does not work for the string and that it actually needs [USERID]. Should this work? This is what I am trying to use:
..../tabid/62/ID/[USERID]/Default.aspx
It links to the page OK, but does not pick up the ID, neither does it when I use [USERNAME].

Hi Tim,
Thanks for the help!
Unfortunately, I still cannot get tthis to work - although Private Messages works fine! I'm wondering if it is because I need a [USERID] token for Smart-Thinker modules and not [USERNAME]?
Great looking website by the way!

Right....
Just asked Smart-thinker and he confirmed that his modules need to user [USERID].
Scott, is there any possibility of this token being exposed? And maybe [DISPLAYNAME] too? This would be fantastic for personalisation.
Thanks,
