Hi,
We have made a custom listing, with only certain fields visible for guest, registered and (soon-to-be, hopefully!) subscribed users.
However, when we recently tested the 'Export Results' link (oversight on our part to not have tested this before), our entire set of custom fields is exported - which is not desirable as our information is what we are "selling" via our subscriptions.
I've tried to customize the export by putting [Custom:Field1], [Custom:Field2], [Custom:Field3], etc. However, all I get are the headers. (FYI: I've removed everything from both the header and item fields, but I still get the 'Export Results' link - it downloads an empty file... is there some way to remove the link altogether that I'm missing?)
If I'm reading the documentation correctly, the [Custom:XXX] token is not an option for this layout file and, the only way to accomplish what we want to be to 'unpublish' all custom fields that we don't want export. However, (again, if I'm reading correctly), unpublishing these fields will remove them from the 'Add Property' screen? It appears to work this way in my brief test.
While this isn't that much of a problem for us yet since we do our data updates offline still and import that data... for the most part... we still want to be able to update certain fields online that we don't want exported by non-subscribers...
What would be nice is if the following tokens could be used for the item: [Custom:XXX] [ISINROLE:XXX] [/ISINROLE:XXX]
(See, you add a new token and immediately, we want it more places) :)
This way, we could truly customize the export for our users and give the groups that have paid, access to more data to download than those who have not.
I hope that makes sense. Our site is here: http://momcheck.com/Home/tabid/36/Default.aspx, if it helps to see how it we are working things...
Thanks for such a great module... we are using this module for a purpose for which it was not intended and appreciate how easy it is to adapt to our needs. (especially since I'm not a web developer and new to all things dnn and .net - you make it very, very easy to work with)
