Just wondering if anybody has a setup were they have a Parent Portal with Property Agent installed and are sharing the data from the parent portal with a child portal.

Hi, I am sharing property agent data from my main portal (www.wisweddingplanner.com) and synchronizing the data to my child portal (www.myweddinginspirations.com). This way I didn't have to re-enter all of the businesses on my child portal and users only have to update their info on one site. Then it synchronizes every 1/2 hour or so so the data on my child portal is updated. I did this because my main portal is for WI businesses only and my child portal is for all US states. I needed to keep the same custom fields to do this. I contacted AllDnnSkins and they wrote a module for me to do this. It was very inexpensive and they do great work and know property agent very well. Since then I have had them do other updates on modules for me.

Thanks for that info, I contacted AllDnnSKins two weeks ago but alas I've had no reply. Do you have an email address for them or a more direct contact point.

About your two sites, are the PA listings the same on both your parent and child portals or have your specific details listed on the parent portal that have addresses only in WI ?

I contacted them (AllDNNSkins) several weeks ago about some custom Property Agent work as well and they never got back to me.  Replied "we'll get right back to you" and never heard again.  I even inquired about your "syncing" module they created for you.

I would really prefer that I had the ability to share a database between portals though.  I'm looking at what's going to be a db of several GB identical between about 20 portals.  They could really drag my servers down.  Would be much better to have one db accessed by several portals.  Expected access load isn't really and issue, just the syncing and disk space resources.
