Hi all,

I've been looking for a certain type of functilnaity for a looooong time! I recently thought that the core User Defined Table module might handle it, but I've just found out that it can't :(

This is the general idea:

  • A person stores bottles of wine for clients as a business - like a rental wine cellar.
  • The person has a website and wants to maintain an online database of client's wines.
  • The important feature is that clients could sign in and only see the list of wines that belong to them
  • Only the site owner should be able to see all wines of all clients and update them.

Could Property Agent be configured todo this? i.e. let the site editor assign entries (bottles of wine) to specific users and then restrict the displayed entries to the ones the user owns when they sign in to check their stock.

I also want do something similar with investment portfolios... to be able to maintain a bunch of data per-user and the users would only see their own data.

It's all about creating and displaying user-specific content. I've been wondering if Property Agent might be able to do something tricky with the agents and brokers functionality perhaps?

Any advice is greatly appreciated,
Rob

There is no restriction on view at the moment, although if this was applied, then yes, you might be able to do it.

ok thanks for the info. I've since found out that I also need to be able to import the data by csv so I've been doing more research and realised I should be looking at some of the fancy forms modules for this.

I think besides the import stuff, I was describing that functionality with the "owner" filtering I was suggesting some time ago.

I did recall seeing something in the forums here that made me think it might work... it was probably your post.
