On the Layout Settings page I have unchecked the box to enable types. However, the types still display. Am I missing something? What I want is to not use the types as all of the properties in question are houses.

It is just to hide it form the front page, I assume you are talking about the edit property page?

I don't kmow what you mean by the edit property page. I have installed the Property Agent module on my site (http://www.brunswickcountyhabitat.org/Whatwedid/HousesWeBuilt/tabid/80/Default.aspx). In the wimdow labeled "Property Agrnt" i chose "Edit Layout Settings". On this page there are multiple settings, one of which is labeled "Type Settings". I have unchecked the box laneled "?Enable Types", yest as you can see on the above referenced page the property types entry still appears. There are no types to display because I have also gone to the "Edit Property Types" menu option and unckecked the "Publish" option for each of the types. From wjat I understand I am looking at the front page and the Types still appear.

Incidently, I am using the Real Estate template and attempting to modify it for my requirement.

Yes, that is what was installed when I installed the Property Agent module. I have not yet entered any properties, so that is all there is to see at this point. My concern is that the Property Type drop down selection window is still there even though I disable Property Types.

To remove this you need to uncheck Search Types checkbox in Edit Layout Settings (Search section)...

cheers,
st.

I do not want to remove the search capability, I just want to remove the Property Tyoe for the search and all other areas because I will be dealing with only one property type in my applicaction: houses.

No one has focused on my basic question which is what effect does the Enable Property Types checkbox on the Edit Layout Files screen do. Scott said it only affexts the front page, but I don't know what he means by the front page I'm not trying to be difficult, ut I just dpn't understand.

What was suggested "uncheck search types" checkbox will just remove the types dropdown in the search area.

The enable property types setting in "Edit Layout Settings" hides the types from being selectable on the landing page, this is the group of links allowing you to select a type.
