Ok, just wondering if this would be possible to set up using the current version of PA, and what the best way would be to set this up...
I currently have a directory on my website, where people have to pay to be in. I would now like to offer a limited free listing in the directory also. I am thinking about creating 2 different roles, one for paid one for premium. Now, when the user fills out the PA form would they see all of the fields, or could I set it up that the free listings only see like 2 of the fields and the other premium role would see all of the fields?
Also, when I set up the "View" templates and such, can I arrange the template information differently based on the role the business is in when they submitted it? And say "This is a free listing" or something.
Can I have these free listings on the very bottom of the Premium Listings? Would I have to use the featured settings?
Then I would just have a link button telling them that they can upgrade when they are logged into their listing and then change their role and be able to add the rest of the information to their listing. |

Hi Scott,
I have been thinking about how this could be implemented. Here are my thoughts. On each Custom Field (Business Name, phone, website, etc) it would be nice if checkboxes could be displayed that show all "roles" from the dnn portal. This way, I could check business name for all of the roles, and website only for the "premium" member role. Then when users fill out the form they would only see the fields based on what role they are in...and possibly upgrade later and see more fields.
Then to seperate the free vs paid listings, could there be some sort of option like the current "bubble" feature where I could select a role that would be "bubbled" at the bottom of all of the listings.
Thanks! |

For bubbling featured properties, you should be able to restrict the ability for paid listings (a role) to have access to feature, or even make it auto-featured. I think what you are really asking for is the ability to have some custom fields only editable by people in a particular role. You should be able to do this via the lockdown feature. e.g. mark a custom field as "locked down" and pick the roles that belong to the locked down section in edit permissions. A person in that locked down permission are the only ones able to edit that field. |

| great, I am going to give the "lockdown" a try. Perfect, because if they want to upgrade, they will be able to edit more fields then. can't wait to try this out. This module has so many features it's hard to keep up! |

Ok, got the lockdown to work. Quick question, can I disable the contact form also?
And, can I change how the templates look for lockdown fields? Say I don't let them add their address or website, can I not show - Phone:
Because it would be blank anyway... |

As I said you can do it all The contact form is only enabled through the use of the contact token, is it not? |

| yup, I posted another post about this. I asked Scott if we could in the template add some sort of token / tag that checks to see what role the user is that submitted the listing. That way if they submitted a free listing the contact form wouldn't display, it would only display to the paid users. He was going to look into adding a token like this to use in the templates. thanks for your help. |

[ISINROLE:XXX] [/ISINROLE:XXX] Show region where XXX (role name) matches to the logged on user with that role. [ISLOCALE:XXX] [/ISLOCALE:XXX] Show region where XXX (locale ID) matches the locale of the current user. E.g. [HASVALUE:XXX] [/HASVALUE:XXX] Show region where XXX (custom field name) has a value. [HASNOVALUE:XXX] [HASNOVALUE:XXX] Show region where XXX (custom field name) has no value. |

Right I think I know what you mean. How are people going to pay - I assume that they will have to subscribe and then be added to a role. So people who dont subscribe can only add a free listing, which uses the listing and alternate templates which dont have a contact form token added. And have reduced functionality. And the people who do pay have the ability to auto feature, which uses the featured template with the contact token in it. Will that work becuase it does for me. So the end result is that only paid for listigs have a contact form The only issue is when people do a search and then featured listings get use the listing and alternate templates which means that after a search there would be a contact form for anyone. There might be a solution to this - I just need time to think |

| Yup, you are right. Scott and I were discussing it here in another post: http://www.ventrian.com/Support/ProductForums/tabid/118/forumid/38/postid/32763/view/topic/Default.aspx. He is going to be adding a token to check the role of the user submitting the listing. |

Yeah, the token would be useful, however the method above would work for your situation. Until that is a token is avaible cheers |

| Which template are you trying to put it in? The token is there for view.item, listing.item, etc. |

| Sorry Scott, as explained in another post - it did not work because i have a space in the Role Name. eg Real Estate Gold. I removed all the spaces and now it works fine |
