I have been playing with PA and it throws the below error from time to time when I am logged in as host:

Hi, I've similar error when I send message to agent:

Errore critico
Multiple controls with the same ID 'PropertyAgent_9221_2' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs.

How Can solve it?

I'm also having the error ... it gives the error consistently in 01.04.07 and .08 wether logged in as host or not logged in at all.

It happens when I add the [CONTACTFORM] token and click on the send link.

Hi, I've 4.6.2 DNN version. I've no module cached on my page. I've this problem not in all property contact form. You can see it on my testing link: gruppo2.immobiliaremastromei.it

How you can see there are two property if you try to send a message one work ok the other don't work!

Any Idea?

Does the page have a contact form on it? (and anything cached?)

Can you send me a screenshot of the page you are viewing before you click the edit/view (support@ventrian.com)

I didn't care about this error because I thought it only happens when logged in in edit mode, but today it happened when I tried to login to dnn from the page where property agent has an instance. Here are all the scenarious you can try to reproduce the error:

1. While on the Property Details (View) page try to switch the DNN Edit Mode from Edit to View: 
A critical error has occurred.
Multiple controls with the same ID 'PropertyAgent_1321_6' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs.

2. While on the Property Details page and not logged in to DNN try clicking on the Login: A critical error has occurred.
Multiple controls with the same ID 'PropertyAgent_1321_6' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs. 

3. Clicking Print on the Property Details page - can be seen here

It happens on clean install on 4.6.2 build 1.4.10 - Ihope it helps.

P.S. the link in point 3 is not my site i saw the link in previous post and it happened when i browsed the site. It happens also on my local install too.

I didn't care much about this error until I realised I can not print the Property View/Details Page.

By clicking on the link from the [PRINT] token I get:

A critical error has occurred. Multiple controls with the same ID 'PropertyAgentPrint_4069_4' were found. FindControl requires that controls have unique IDs.

my property agent instance id is 406.

Any ideas? Anything to try to get rid of this problem?

Just for the record - I managed to eliminate the error!

It appears that at least in my case the error was triggered by the [PHOTOSMALL] token which was at the top of my Print.Item.Html and View.Item.Html template. At the top I had some javascipt with the following variable:

var infobox = '(div class="NormalBold")(a href="#PropTop") [PHOTOSMALL] (/a)(/div)';

I'm using the Property Agent with Virtual Earth to display location and I need this variable to display the property image in a popup while the user hovers over the property location icon on the interactive map. The same code is in the Print and View templates.

Simply by moving the script at the end of the template the error went away.

Scott, it looks like it is a token parsing problem - the token was used too early in the template...

I hope this will point you in the right direction to troubleshoot the issue.

I think the "Multiple control error" is back with a vengeance. This is my error scenario.

I simply turned the caching on in the module settings and set it to 360. Then next time I when back to the page hosting the module I got this error screen:

DotNetNuke Error: - Version 04.06.02

            An error has occurred.
An error has occurred.

  Return to Site            

I noticed the error message was in the page query string:
"/Default.aspx?tabid=75&error=Multiple+controls+with+the+same+ID+'PropertyAgent-132Template_406'+were+found.+FindControl+requires+that+controls+have+unique+IDs.&content=0"

After the first occurrence of the error every other time the I got the previous dnn error screen with another error message in the query string:
"/Default.aspx?tabid=36&error=Timeout+expired.++The+timeout+period+elapsed+prior+to+obtaining+a+connection+from+the+pool.+
+This+may+have+occurred+because+all+pooled+connections+were+in+use+and+max+pool+size+was+reached.&content=0"

This error bought the whole site down and every request to any page produced the above dnn error screen with the timeout error message.

This happened on a hosted site and i had to ask the support guy to recycle the app pool a few times until i figure out it was the caching setting that caused the problem. While I was troubleshooting between the app pool re-cycles I experienced another error following link from the latest property companion module:
"The resource cannot be found.
Description: HTTP 404. The resource you are looking for (or one of its dependencies) could have been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable.  Please review the following URL and make sure that it is spelled correctly.
Requested URL: /Default.aspx"

again the error message was in the query string:
"/Default.aspx?tabid=75&error=The+Controls+collection+cannot+be+modified+because+the+control+contains+code+blocks+(i.e.+%3c%25+...+%25%3e).&content=0"

I hope it will help you or anyone else who may experience this issue.
