After asking some people not familar with the sites I work on and watching them search on a test site I think there needs to be a Property Type "All"
They liked that you could search by property type but they also wanted to a selection of "All" so they knew they were searching all the properties.
Also on a design note (I am making a real estate site) and I am listing houses as well as lots. Lots do not have Beds and Baths so I was wanting to leave them blank and not required instead of doing a n/a or 0 option since those options would then show up in the search area and confuse people. Well when I leave the Bed, Bath and Garage blank I get some underlines that showup in its place on my template (see attached image). I am guessing the way the image icon is in the CSS causes this? Not sure if there is a CSS trick to prevent this or would this fall under the request for conditional tokens. Or if a field is blank not to show it in the template. I am using your example Real Estate template in my testing of this.
For the help icons (tool tips).... Could there be a user option and admin option. I was hoping to give a tooltip for the people adding the properties as to give them examples of vaild entries like price so they will know what they need to type in and also a description of what we are looking for as data. (IE. Short Description - A short summary of your property less than 30 words.) Or Price (No $ or commas in price please example 10000.00). |
