Hi Scott! I Think it was nice if we had the option of "Caption hidden" also in the "Specify details about search settings", or to be able to leave the caption field empty. (bottom line for even more flexibility in the future) In purpose not to repeat fields twice like here: ( it is a little template I working on). |

Scott, I think the search is not working right. shouldn't a search for one property field bring all the published fields of the property? In that case I get in the results the right property BUT what I see is an empty image frame (eveen though I disabled images). Clicking on the image I get to the view screen which there again i see the empty image and the video (description field) on the right. ? Thanks. (I'll attach the search results.) |

I don't follow what you mean, the searching brings back a list of search results, and then you can click on one of those search items to view the property.
The layout of the search results comes from listing.item.html in the template.
Can you be more specific? Or even provide a URL ? |

Sure, I'll try. (www.hostdnnblog.com) 1. The custom field "description" is where the video code is in. The field is published and is checked for listing as well. Yet it does non show up in the search results.(only in the view page which I don't need). 2. I don't use any images and I disabled images. Yet I get an empty link image frame in the search results and after clicking I know i got to the right property because then (and only then ) I see the video. Thanks. there are only 2 custom fields.:

1. For the description token to appear, 1 of 2 things have to happen, either:-
a.) You have the [CUSTOM:DESCRIPTION] token defined in the layout file for your template (this would be the listing layout files). The real estate and cards use this precise layout.
b.) You have the [CUSTOMFIELDSLISTING] token defined in the layout file for your template, this displays a list of fields defined in the custom field manager as visible in the listing. The simple and cars template use this method.
2. In your layout file, you probably still have image borders in html. If you remove these, it should begin to work.
Have you read the template guide? |

Cool. It's working now. I'm using the [CUSTOMFIELDSLISTING] and I've deleted the image link. I just didn't think it's again "hardcodeing" issue, and i thought that if the token is not there (e.g by itself :)) I might have "corrupted' the html somewhere on the way....but not! Great , thanks a lot. Think you should change the name of the module to : "Dnn module generator for dummies". (Authentic right?)

You bring up an interesting point about images though, I might implemented a token called [ISIMAGESENABLED][/ISIMAGESENABLED], this would allow you to better turn things off in the UI.
Glad it's working now, what type of template are you building? A video one? |

The streaming video is a growing market, isn't it? And I think it's more fun to have it in your own blog, or forum. It can be videos, flash tutorials, designers portfolio, community exhibitions and so on. Seems to me that after you will add some other (functional) custom fields and roles the possibilities will really be close to unlimited. I'm looking for a designer now, so he'll design, I'll css because when the template looks good, works good and gives easy life to the customer including a one address for for host and support problems ...you just have to find where to sell it. Thanks again.

I've had a number of requests to provide streaming video in simple gallery.
The difficult has been how to resize the video on upload though.
I'd be keen to look at what you come up with when you are finished. |

I'll do my best!.
A little "search" logic question:
In the "archive module" we choose a page/tab and then it populates the module list field and we choose again.
So if I had "types" in this template, after choosing types it would populate the "list"?
Thanks. |

| I'm not sure what you mean, there is no archive module? Or do you have archive videos or something? |

No, sorry being so short wording. I meant that i would need a 2 part search like in the "view option" Archive article module.(part of news articles module.). The first will be to choose a type of property (video) and then to choose a property that will apear. Is that how it isgoing to work? the search?T hanks. (Like in the archive module when you first choose a page and then the module.) |
