I just downloaded this module today and have begun setting up a custom template when I had an idea to have different items in the same module. I haven't seen this posted anywhere, but It appears in the demos that you can have multiple instances of the property agent in the same portal. I was wondering if it was possible to combine these into one instance so that people could choose what they were looking for from one module. I guess it could be set up the way the demos where by directing people to a different instance depending on what they were searching, but it would be easier for the administrator to handle it if it was all in one spot. I guess I am talking about a classifieds section which is what this appears to be but for one product type.

Also, I have to say all the modules I have installed from this site are working perfectly so far for my site (I just upgraded to DNN 4.4.0). Thanks for all the hard work!

This is a little tricky - you want 1 instance for a portal, and have it only show certain information on each page?

The user would then do a search (maybe on the homepage) and it would redirect to the correct module.

This is really tricky to do, can you maybe describe the scenario you want to use it in?

Right now, I have a gaming site where people trade tickets to improve or change their game setup (its for baseball, so they may want a different home field, or they want to change a batter from a righty to a lefty etc.) These tickets are accumulated from their performance each 2 week season and some people accumulate lots of tickets they don't or can't use. They are trading their tickets in the forums (post that a ticket is available, then if someone wants it, they contact them via private messenger - a great module by the way.) If someone is looking for something specific, they post it in a forum and wait until someone has it available. Again exchanging by private messenger. There can be several posts and it is tricky sometimes to find what you are looking for. It would be easy to set this property agent up so people can find what they are looking for or post what they have available. Players can accumulate these tickets and sometimes want to trade several at once as a "package" and I was going to add a package selection where someone could enter all of the tickets they were trading into a text box instead of each one individually.

Sometimes, people have other personal items available to trade (or sell) like car parts, bowling balls, dart boards...anything really. They go through the same process of trading these items. I was thinking I could just set up the module with a general item and people might search for this that way. I wanted to be very specific for the ticket trading since that is what is mostly traded. I didn't want to set up the template to include these other items because they are not as prevalent. It wouldn't be problem to add a "general " attribute, but I think it might confuse some of the users. They might start asking what the bowling ball will do for them in the game. (Many of the players are younger.  I know kids are smart these days, but they can also be smart alecks. If I did combine it, there would be a lot of posts like this that I really don't want to see.)

That is the situation. I was thinking I could set up a module for trading items in the game and another for the personal items. Then I could add a menu item or create a "trading page" where people could select "game items" which would direct them to gaming module on one page or "personal items" that would direct them to the personal items module on a different page. Of course, the area is moderated so people aren't posting anything inappropriate. This takes up some time, especially at the end of a season when people are dumping their tickets. My first question was if I could have multiple modules in the same portal for different items. (I saw the different modules in your demos and figured it must be possible). My second question was if the information for these trades could be combined together so one administrator could moderate everything in one module. I think/hope the first question must be possible. The second one isn't as critical because it really wouldn't be that much work to go to the second module and moderate that one. It really is more of a wish. It would also be nice if it was integrated all in one module, but like you said, it's tricky and I don't expect that.

Thanks for listening and all the great stuff you have!

Yes, you can have multiple moduels in a portal, each using a different template.

I'm not sure about central modification, they may need to go to both pages and moderate, they would receive email notifications when a listing is added.

You could add a link only visible to moderators on each page to make it easy to flick between.
