Part of the design for Estate Agent is to make it easier for hosters (people who have control over an entire install using a superuser account) to provision portals for their clients.
As part of dumbing down the interface for an administrator only account, they only have access for 2 options:-
* Property Types (the equivalent of maintaining categories) * Change Template (the admin can change the configuration of a module to select an available template from the list a host has provided the user with).
A host on the other hand has access to many other options:-
* Edit Custom Fields (Add & Edit custom fields for the current module) * Edit Layout Files (Change the layout files for the template the current module is using) * Edit Layout Settings (Change the current settings for the template the current module is using) * Edit Template Definitions (Edit, Import and Export Templates), an export will take the current changes you have made to the module and export it to a new template or override an existing one.
A template is defined as a zip file containing:-
* Layout Files * Layout Settings * Custom Fields * Default Categories
I'm hoping the new design for templates will be quite popular, it works very similar to modules and also has the feature of "Premium", allowing you to optionally assign templates to restricted portals.
