Hi Scott,

Question:
Do you have intentions of setting specific security roles to specific content?

Say Yes  :o)

I hadn't thought of it, but it probably could be easily implemented.

So when you create a piece of content, you would mark it visible to X number of roles?

Hi Scott,

Exactly.
Example:
We have visitors sign up with JustNorth.com and tell us their interests - hunting, camping, fishing, golf etc. and, upon registration, are added to the role with the same interest name.

It would be great to show folks in the camping role something differnt than somebody in a golf role.

Question: Is there a reason the width of this forum editor is so narrow?  :o)

Hi Scott,

I am back to this issue.

The security roles (AKA subscription roles) are much needed with this module. I wanted to show homepage content to unauthenticated users and registered users.

And then show unique content to subscription role members.

If this is an easy implementation, it would be much appreciated.

Thinking through this, The Subscription content module would do the job.

BTW - Did you acquire your financial goal to begin the subscription tool enhancements?

Does the subscription content module work for this? I'm not sure what you are asking.

I've received the requests in the thread for money pledges, but haven't started work. I'm full time on ventrian now (and baby is home), so I'm getting on with things again.

I'd just like to bump this topic. I was in need of a module that does the following:

If user belongs to role(X,Y, or Z) show message 1 else
If user belongs to role(A) show message 2
else show message3

It sounds like that what the original thread poster was asking for as well.

Hi Nelson, I'll look back into this.

At the moment it's more cascading content, e.g. if you are in role a show message 1, role b show message 2, etc.

So if you are in role A and B you will see message 1 and 2?

In my scenario I may have people in Premium Roles and they are also in the Registered Users role. I would like to show Premium Roles a "You are a premium user" and registered roles "You are a registered user. To become a premium user click here"

It would be odd for a Premium user to see both messages.

Hi Scott,

I'd like to revive this question. This would be really cool in our situation. You can use Markit popup module to call this content rotator module. So if I could call it I could present a popup that contained content for that user role: welcome current member; welcome staff member - remember to get your pay sheet in by friday!; you are not a member yet, please join - that sort of thing.

thanks,

Will Sugg
