Ive got dnn 4.5.1 and the friendly urls module installed. It works great. The terms, register and privacy links are being written correctly. The login link however isnt and looks like this:

http://www.domain.com/Home/tabid/37/ctl/Login/Default.aspx?returnurl=%2fDefault.aspx

How do I correct this?

Hmm, what verison of DNN are you using? Maybe it always appends the returnurl in your version.

The latest. 4.5.1 Also, I noticed the url re-writer doesnt write the search results. It shows up as:

http://www.domain.com/SearchResults/tabid/38/Default.aspx

Is this normal?

I'm not sure what do you mean, do you mean when you search on something and are redirected to search results it doesn't pass the argument?

I too am seeing exactly this behaviour for the Login page after my upgrade to 4.5.1. The friendly urls module was working fine previosuly on 4.4.1 for my login page. Any idea what is wrong?

Yes, I noticed this issue right after I upgraded to to DNN 4.5.1 and I brought it up here.

The core changed and now includes a "returnurl" parameter that redirects you to the page you logged in from.

Usability wise this is nice. Let's say you are browsing these forums as an unauthenticated user and you come across a thread that strikes your interest and you would like to reply to it. To do that you need to login. So you scroll up and click the "Login" link. But once you are in DNN drops you off on the Ventrian home page and now you'll have to look for the post all over again.

But you are right, the login url is now "ugly" and more importantly, this may potentially create lots of duplicate content in search engines.

I hard-coded my login link as "login.aspx" for now.

If you create a login page and in Site Settings identify that login page you eliminate any chance of duplicate content in the search engines.  It may even fix the "ugly" problem, but I have not checked.
