Hi there, a couple questions...

1.  These RESX strings/labels show up when I view the options for the Subscription Tools/Subscription Status module as well as when I go to edit the content.

Is this something that I have done to cause this in my DNN install?  Or is this the module's doing?

2.  When users click the drop down box to add a module on the page they have a problem and cannot read the module name because it's too long.  Scott's are a good example - "DnnForge - NewsArticles".

Can I modify module names and shorten them up - like "NewsArticles" without screwing things up?

Thanks,
Scott

I neglected to give examples of the RESX thing:

RESX:ControlTitle_viewoptions.Text
RESX:Role.Header
RESX:Contains Content.Header
RESX:ControlTitle_editrole.Text

Also, this does not happen to all modules.  I have not checked all of them, this is NOT all inclusive, but off hand I know Scott's Sub Tools does this as well as XMod.

If it matters, I'm on DNN 3.1.1  &  .NET 1.1

Hmm, I think these resx problems come from one of a few problems based around reading the resx files.

I would:-

  1. Check that the resx files are in the correct place, /desktopmodules/<module>/App_LocalResources
  2. Check that the file permissions are correct.

Can you confirm the above?

As for the module titles, you can customize these in host -> module definitions

1. resx files in /DesktopModules/SubscriptionStatus/App_LocalResources:

Status.ascx.resx
StatusEditRole.ascx.resx
StatusViewOptions.ascx.resx

2. How do I check the file permissions?

By the way - I stumbled upon some info about renaming the modules via the friendly name field.  Seems this is new with 3.1, I think.

Still trying to get resolve on the resx thing, though.

Thanks,
Scott
