Have just completed this site for a friend who has recently started in business as a sporting event photographer. The site uses the Simple Gallery Random module on the home page and the simple gallery on each on the Gallery pages.
Any feedback appeciated... www.futurelegends.com.au

Under the Local History child portal, we're using the Simple Gallery module, which we're very pleased with. We also use the Friendly URLs dll for the pretty 'blah.aspx' tabid-free page names, and an inhouse 'page title hyphenator/lowercase-inator' similar to the one I posted in the friendly urls forum.
Some other niceties include the ugly child portal alias not showing when you click on the child portals, and the any pages that end in .aspx can also be accessed without it, or with a / (ie /blah.aspx, /blah, /blah/ all go to the same page). I'm pretty pleased with the final functionality of the site... even if we didn't get much say in the look of it.

I'm using Simple Gallery on this Danish portal for my old scout's group:
http://graastenspejderne.dk/
The gallery itself is on the "Billeder" page, and the random module is used throughout the portal to serve photos from albums relevant to each page.
The skin is custom xhtml 1.1 compliant (just for the fun of it), but that hasn't exactly been a smooth ride. I still have some very strange problems.

I've been using Simple gallery for a while now, however I just rebuilt many of my sites, so the best example is here :
http://www.isialumni.com
I am having a problem seeing the frames (borders) on the random gallery photo on the home page. Any thoughts?
I will post to the issues forum as well. |

I just finished a site for a client, they use it in their member's only section (requires registration + payment).
www.stackablecrew.com ; I was going to use the Ventrian Subscription Tools module for their subscriptions but they needed support for recurring subscriptions and some other changes that hadn't made it into Subscription Tools yet. I ended up rehashing the Subscription Tools from scratch, borrowed some of the UI for it though. |

Using it here, a clean version of SimpleGallery. Great tool, wish that it supports comments.
I've seen it on the feedback center for years, but haven't seen any updates. It maybe too time-consuming? Cost too much to implement? |

| The difficulty for comments is supporting all slideshow modes, e.g. how do you leave a comment when displaying a photo in lightbox? |

This is certainly not a simple thing to sort out. I'll start a thread to discuss some options.

Scott,
Thanks for your response. It is hard to implement it when you're using lightbox. However, for people who are not using lightbox, it would be a very nice enhancement feature. I wouldn't get hung up on it as you can integrate with the lightbox in the future. |
