I've tried this using FireFox, Chrome and Internet Explorer with the same happening with each, though it's working fine from Windows Server 2003 and from MacOS X.

When uploading photos and making a a selection and hitting ok - it seems to upload the first very fast, says "Creating thumbnail..." and then just sits there. No others are added.

Is this a known problem, or has anyone else experienced this (or success) with Windows 7?

Hmm, I haven't heard of any problems in Win7 before. Is this on the same site you are testing on? (Using windows 2003 + Win 7)

You should also make sure you have the latest flash version.

I have the latest Flash 10.0.2.54.

And it is the same site, and using the same photo files too.

ok, got it. I've created a test album at root level and am uploading a set of 24 of my photos to it using IE8 on my Windows 7 desktop here.

It's going well so far.. nice and fast... all done, no problems at all. I'll remove the album again.

I guess I would look for something interfering somewhere else in the system - Try disabling Anti-Spyware, browser add-ons, Antivirus apps, and look closely at everything running in the system tray.. click the little down arrow by the clock and ensure nothing funny is running there.

Scott, have you got a link to where the flash uploader is from? I think there is a demo page there and David could try uploading to that as a test.

Thanks Scott

That worked fine for me. Actually looks a little different but I understand that can just be the way it's presented.

From reading the SWFUpload FAQs (http://code.google.com/p/swfupload/wiki/FAQ) I noticed this:

"First check, if you are using any version of SWFUpload less than 2.2.0 then it will not work with Adobe Flash Player 10 installed and because of their security 'improvements'. Starting with 2.2.0 we had to make some drastic changes to how SWFUpload works with Flash 10 Player. I would recommend using 2.2.0+ if you can't lock down the plugin to Flash 9 and lower in your environment. Next step, turn debugging on to narrow down the problem by setting debug: true in your settings object."

(Actually curious in this for my own development work too)

I upgraded the version of SWFUpload that comes with Simple Gallery previously for the security patch in Flash 10 (this was about a year ago).

You are using the latest release of Simple Gallery?

Otherwise - there is something else about your environment that is causing it to not work, as others have windows 7 and it works for them.

Yes, I am using the latest version... just updated it last week.

I don't know what can be causing it as not a great deal is installed on this setup, it's only 2 weeks old now. AVG is running for the anti-virus/anti-spyware but I would think quite a few others use this too.

Also it is happening on the 3 different browsers I am running (all latest versions) so I doubt it is a browser plug-in... something that can affect all browsers.

When it gets to this stage I'm normally going by trial and error. There's a flash remover from Adobe that I have used in the past to fix a messed up Flash install - the update reported Flash was fine, but it wasn't until I removed and reinstalled it. http://www.technibble.com/adobe-flash-uninstaller-repair-tool-of-the-week/

If you've exhausted and eliminated all apps and perhaps also tried it on a test instance of DNN on your server, then you might have to start looking at a reinstall... that's where I usually end up going when things go nuts.

Can you send me the login details (support@ventrian.com), I will see if I can reproduce it, otherwise, if I can't, I'm out of options.

I am having the same issue. Running Windows 7, Adobe Flash Player 10.0.42.34, Adobe Flash Player Active X 10.0.22.87, Firefox/3.6 (.NET CLR 3.5.30729), IE 8.0.7600.16385, Simple Gallery 2.4.17. Also the SWFUpload works fine. I can upload to my local (pc) dnn installation, but not to my hosted site. Are there any file permissions that need to be set?

Can I get access to your site Mark? It maybe a script conflict. (support@ventrian.com)

Sorry, been a bit busy to keep up here but it's still an issue I am having and am no closer to resolving it either.

Windows Vista, IE8, flash 10,0,32,18. Same issue on Windows server 2003 with IE8.

Having same issue. I click the Browse button, and nothing happens. http://demo.swfupload.org/v220/simpledemo/index.php - works fine for me though.

Website version is dnn 5.2.2. I just installed the Simple Gallery 2.3.17

Any pointers?
