I upgraded to the newest SimpleGallery (and DNN to 4.5). If I now click on the RSS symbol I get the following error:

Server Error in '/' Application.

Length of the data to decrypt is invalid.

Description: An unhandled exception occurred during the execution of the current web request. Please review the stack trace for more information about the error and where it originated in the code.

Just upgraded to DNN 4.5.1. That had no effect. Still get the error.

Which RSS symbol are you clicking? The one in the action menu or the one next to the albums?

The core RSS feed is generated by the core code (the action menu item) and powered by the search items. I have very little control over this.

Same with me. Both RSS icons make the same error.

I'm checking into this now, it looks like something in the core has changed causing a problem with the RSS feeds.

OK - there is a an entry in the web.config for the RSS support:-

You can temporarily comment this out, to get your site working. More information coming as this is not a complete fix.

OK - I've found a fix that doesn't require modifying the web.config file. I'll start updating the modules and releasing new builds.

Can you try the latest release in Simple Gallery?

Scott:  Can you share what you had to do in the code to fix the issue?  I'm having similar problems in some of my custom modules that support RSS.

Thanks.

All you need to do is include a web.config that remaps the rss handler for your particular module.

DNN introduced a handler that replaced anything requesting rss.aspx to go straight to the DNN Handler.

You should be able to take the web.config out of /desktopmodules/simplegallery and drop straight into your module.
