I have my photo gallery set to display in "Lightbox".
I find that the "standard" and "pop up" show a better result with having the page title actually display on the page, but I prefer the functionality with the lightbox.
I am really trying to find a way that ALL of my images start to appear in the google images search.
I would like them to appear with the massive description I have on each image, but have not had any luck,
My images have descriptions, titles, and tags set for each image that I upload.
There are over 5500+ pictures and only 169 are showing from google images.
Why is this?
The other issue I notice, is when your looking at the title that google is finding, its actually the page title which the module is installed for simple gallery, and not the title of the photo.
Has anyone else had these problems?

Does anyone have any suggestions to get the simple gallery images to show up on google images search? Yesterday I got 169 images to appear and now I am down to 166. There are a lot of pictures they could be indexing, but none are being indexed. I really would like to figure this out... |

I assume google scans through and looks for image src which should be specified by simple gallery.
You say none are being indexed but you also say there is 166? Do you mean none from Simple Gallery are being indexed? |

Yes there are 166 being searched by google images, so I know it may be working, but I think it was searching those images a few days ago by the TAGS. Its strange I know, because know they are showing the .jpg when you visit www.yokosukabase.com and click images from my site. They also are not pulling down my description or title from any of the images, and its pulling the page title that the images are displayed. All of them say YOKOSUKA NAVAL BASE...... so I wish they would actually display the title vice the page title... Any thoughts??? |

The images are still not showing up with google. Is there anything you can do to help the SEO for images through SIMPLE GALLERY? It looks like some of the tags are showing up, but not the 5600+ pictures I have loaded. I cannot seem to get them to show up on google correctly. Any ideas Scott? |

Here is what I found browsing the web about this issue:-
"You'll have to be very patient with that. It may take up to 6 months to get your images indexed. The google bot for pictures is different than the bot for text."

It seems to me with the 400+ tags I have, google has found 2 and listing those 2 tags when you click pictures search from my domain name. I looks like google is finding the 117 images from those 2 tags it found, and not from the title/description fields for each photo.
I went into my google webmaster tools, and have seen the tags are being searched, which all of them are showing up, but only 2 are being listed from the pictures tab when you search. Whats ironic, is the tags are showing up on WEB SEARCHES for each tag, but not from all from the pictures tab.
I hope google will pick up my pictures, because I would love for them to be indexed! I will give it a few months and see what happens. |

Its finding 5,630 images on the web search, but when you click the google images for the same custom search which is finding anything with gallerytype for the images it can only find 119 images. Why is this?
It used to even have more images indexed, and the #'s seem to be going down.
I think its doing a good job indexing the page itself, because its more indexed pages from my site for just even 1 picture, but I would also like the pictures to somehow show up. I know a lot of people use the google images link up top, espically for all these military photos and ship pictures.
All the images have tags, and descriptions assigned to them, and I still cannot get them to be indexed.
It looks like the 119 images that did happen to be indexed, was due to 2 tags that were indexed. Because googles images crawler recognized those 2 tags, it pulled all the images to the image link.. Why did it do this, and why for only those 2 tags? If it was to do it for all of them, I would be very happy, but havent figured out why the pictures arent being indexed. |

| I'm not sure on why this is happening, as I've seen in other threads, the indexing of images can be a hit and miss affair with google, as it takes a long time to index. |
