Perhaps this will help someone along the way.
Setting up a new site on WH4L, got the SWFUpload error after installing the module with no errors. Scouted around for a bit and found a "Security Guard" feature (under Security in the control panel) that prevents hot linking and sql attacks. Turning this off and now the Simple Gallery upload now works as it does on my other sites.

I, and my clients are having the same error in IE when clicking to upload photos. I dont understand what I am supposed to do about a Security Guard in the control panel. I am using XP, and if you are talking about the Windows Control Panel I can't find such a security guard. Please provide me some steps I can utilize and give to my clients so that they can get passed this error.
Thanks so much.

We were talking about a webhost4life specific issue that prevented the ashx handler from working. Are you using windows authentication or webhost4life? |

I am using PowerDNN. The upload photo works fine in Firefox, but not in IE. I have many clients who have the same problem on different computers. All of them that have problems are using IE.
Thanks James |

Hi,
I am using IE7 (just upgraded, made no difference), Flash 9.0.2, and Windows XP. I am using Simple Gallery 02.03.04

That is an old version of simple gallery, it could be an issue with that version as well. Does the button appear at all? |

| I've just registered on your site - can you upgrade access so I can add photos to test it? |

I also have this error. I have IE7 and Firefox 3.0.3. With the Simple Gallery can see the button to add images but does not work. The Property Agent can not see the button and returns the error "SWFUpload has not loaded ..."
This error is displayed in only one instance DNN of my server but in another instance it works. I've tested from multiple PCs. I've updated Flash on my PC and the server.
I need help. Thank you.
Toni.

Hi,
I now have uninstalled Property Agent and have only Simple Gallery, I can´t to add images.
I tested the Web site on a PC with XP and Flash 9 and functioning properly. I installed the latest version of Flash (10.0.12.36) and now is not working.
Flash 10?
Thank you |

I have a number of users now having an issue getting file uploads to work in IE with current Flash version (last 9.x version and mostly 10.x version)
Apparently, people have posted the same question over at swfupload forum.
It appears that on those forums that many websites will be broken using swf. They are working on a fix. This is due to new security measures implemented by flash. (If you have older versions of flash avoid some headaches but not upgrading to flash 10)
Could this be related to flash possibly wanting a "crossdomain.xml" file on the site? (http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14213)
Anyone know a workaround besides telling my many users (in multiple languages) to not upgrade flash (dumb)? Grrr... adobe=adumbie..
~ Rich
(p.s.. running simple gallery 02.03.16 - is this resolved in a newer version??) |

Just to provide an update on swfupload. The next version has the very latest release of swfupload running in it. It may resolve some of these issues. Toni, do the SWF demos work for you? see this link. |

It seems like an actual issue in SWFUpload if their demo's don't work with flash 10. Here is what the author of SWFUpload posted on the adobe forums. The scary thing is that flickr also uses this type of library. Do you have a flickr account? I'm curious to see if they resolved it. I'm still investigating this issue. |
