I'm using the module on a site I've just published for a local non-profit. We been using simple gallery for over 5 years and I still have photos running into the thousands to move across. The slide show uses the imagecarousel plugin from Ferret Army and a bit of tailored jQuery. Currently the slideshow will download all fotos in the gallery asynchronously and display them as soon as the first one becomes available.

This site was built around the many features of Simple Image Gallery and has been very successful. Our client is also very comfortable adding content herself which empowers her to keep new art on the forefront of the site. The random Album Image keeps the site fresh so each time you visit you see new pictures. http://www.carolenewman.com
