Is there a way to unsubscribe a user from a role after they click on a link or button? I need a subscription that discontinues on a shorter interval than one day, either immediately upon completing a form or say within one hour.

You would have to write some code to do this.

Hi Scott,

Are we talkin' javascript code that can be inserted in a template, or changes in an .ascx files? What I'm trying to do is implement a pay-per-ad scenario for Property Agent. If I could manually unsubscribe after the ad has been posted, it might do the trick.

The pay-per-ad thing is the only feature keeping me from going live with my site, and I'm starting a real hunt for a solution. I have read through everyone's posts on this topic, but still can't find an answer that works. Any ideas on this would be very helpful.

Thank

Wendy

No it would be code changes, are you asking them to unsubscribe from a plan they are currently in?

What I was thinking was to have them pay for the ad through subscription tools before the ad is created, assign the role once payment goes through, let them create the ad. with their permissions set to auto feature, then when they click on the link to submit the ad., I could remove them from the role as part of the submit process.

That would kind of simulate a pay-per-ad. scenario.

Doesn't sound, from what you mentioned above, like it would be an easy thing to do though.

Is the ad in property agent? If so, could you limit them to 1 property through permissions?

Hi Scott,

Just a follow-up on this...if I make the maximum number of properties for a subscription role - 1 - then if they are removed from the role after one day and they decide to pay to add another property and they are added back to the role, then would Property Agent allow them to add another ad even though the cap is set at one? In other words, would they get to add one property for each time they subscribe to the one-day role?

Thanks

Wendy

No always just 1, it does a check to see if they are in the role when creating a property.
