I'm running Subscription Tools v01.04.02 on a client's website with two different subscription-only areas.  It's set up so that users can sign up to access one area or another.

Unfortunately, I'm having a problem where one area works fine (subscription processes through PayPal and the user is assigned to the correct User Group), but the other one isn't gettg a User Group assigned.  The payment processes OK through PayPal and the user gets redirected back to the paid content area, but they can't access anything since they haven't been assigned to the User Group.

After manually assigning a User Group, the user can access the subscription-only content.

Again, one area on the site works great.  I'm not sure if it's related, but the area that doesn't work also has some problems with the Logout button not working.  When you click there, nothing happens.  Maybe that's got something to do with it, maybe not.

Any suggestions?  The client is getting antsy and I'm stumped.

It sounds like you may have rewriting issues on that page, are you using any 3rd party rewriters?

Nope, no 3rd party rewriters. In fact, this is a pretty simple site all around. The only modules running on the page with the logout problem are Subscription Content, Text/HTML and Search Input.

Can you think of any problems with running two different subscription plans on the same portal? It's odd that one works great while the other doesn't work at all.

There shouldn't be an issue as everything is tied to moduleid.

Why doesn't the logout etc work on that page?

Clicking on the logout button seems to make the page post back, but it never logs out. Instead, the screen flashes and the user is still logged in.

Again, the other subscription content section on this site works fine. The logout button functions as expected.

The bigger problem, though, is that the user role isn't being assigned correctly for one subscription area. As a result, people are signing up and paying but they're not able to view restricted pages until an admin gives them the correct user role.

Problem solved: On the Edit Plans page of the Subscription Signup module, there’s a place where you enter the name of the subscription plan. Someone must have copied and pasted the plan name from Word because it had an HTML-unfriendly character in it. I don’t know the ASCII code of the character is, but it was the apostrophe in “it’s”. You know, one of those fancy ones that Word likes to use everywhere.

Anyways, I changed the character to a regular apostrophe and it works fine now.

Thanks,
Patrick
