It would be extremely useful to have subscription tools as a self contained unit that would allow you the ability to configure registration to none.

It becomes very confusing to visitors when they register for the site and then discover that they still do not have access to the content.

I have tried to prevent this by not adding the [USER] token to the skins but the registration link still shows up when you add an Account Login module to a page.

If we could turn off registration and the only point of entry was the subscription tools module, it would seem more logical to the user and prevent ill feelings.

This would require subscriptions tools to register the user as well then? This might be possible using the DNN register control.

You are correct, sir.

if I understand Subscription Tools correctly, it already has a two step process to perform:

1. Registration

2. Sign up for a subscription.

If it would work with the DNN  registration control turned off, the Subscription Tool would be the only point of access for registering and subscribing to the site.

This, IMHO, would avoid a lot of confusion for the user.
