I ran into a problem this past weekend.  I had some of my subscribers pay me by check for

another year.  Yet when I went to "extend" their subscriptions, I didn't have a way

to do that.

As a user I can do this (using PayPal) but I need this same functionality as the administrator.

Thanks!

For host memberships, I use the "Edit Receipts" -> "Add Receipt" for this functionality. It sends a notification and automatically adds them to the role.

Hi, Scott -

That's what I used, but instead of the receipt being dated from the end of the prior receipt,
it created one dated from that day to 1 year later (1 year membership dues).

Now the previous receipt was a "Manual" receipt done the same way this past January.
That's when I started using your subscription tools (Thank you!).

They had paid in August, and therefore, to them, it was time to pay their dues again.
But since I had manually entered their receipt in January at the cut-over to dnn, their
"receipt" was good from January to January.

Will they get renewal emailings as this first receipt comes to an end?

Thanks!

When it adds a receipt, it uses the expiry date of the role associated with the plan. If they are not in the role, it uses today's date.

They will receive renewals if their last receipt is up for renewal (last being most recent).

Does this help?

I think it will be fine - we're a small organization and I can pretty much work around
it all. So from the expiry dates it looks like they are good for another year from the
day I "extended" them which is fine.

The first round of expiring subscriptions will happen in January - that's when I started
the site and hand-created their role. I look forward to seeing just how the mechanism
works.

Thanks again!
