It would be nice to support categories for Subscriptions Tools. If the category support worked like it does with News Articles and Simplay gallery this would make it really easy to use a subscription module for al sorts of different payment processing.

We have an application right now to sell support ofr an event. There not only are several ways to support, like sponsorships and adverstising, but also different levels of support within each support type (category).

I need some help with this. Maybe someone can offer some sugestions.

We currently offer many different services, webhosting, colaboration suite, email, groupware, maintenance etc. Each of the se services also have different levels. Each offering may appeal to a different type of client but all of the subscriptions need to be managed in a central area. Right now we are doing it with seperate modules, but it's getting out of control. The other problem is with incremental add ons.

Take the email solution as an example. We offer 3 seperate packages, "Collaboration Suite" - "Premium" and "Free". We would like to direct users to a specific page where they can strat the subscription process. Accounts interested in the Collaboration Suite don't need to see the "Premium" package, but we need to manage the subscriptions all in one place. Right now we need to use different modules which makes management almost impossible. Categories would seem to address this if we could filter an instance by category just like News Articles, then have a "Master" instance of the module that does the automated stuff and reporting.

The other issue we have is with quantities. An organization may need to buy 15 slots out of the gate. Becasue an individual is doing the purchasing for the organization we have created packages. This works ok on the startup, but when they need to add a user it goes bad. We need to use another instance of the module for the add-on packs, which makes things even worse.

I'm not sure subscription tools is the right choice for what we are doing.

Can anyone provide some insight or other ideas for this?

I think you can use child link for what you're describing and only in the end of process open a subscribe module.

Tab: Subscribe  /* where they start choosing */

child links module:

        (customer choose:)
plan A  (links to tab A)
plan B  (links to tab B)
                  plan N (etc"             )

(lets say she/he likes "A")

Tab:A
         Child links:
Sub Plan A1  (links to A1)
Sub Plan A2  (links to A2)

Tab A1

         Subscribe module:

                      Plan 1
                      Plan 2
                      Plan 3

you can use  the [TITLE] and or {DESCRIPTION] to help your visitors choose.

Hope It makes sense.
