Just to recap features…

Everyone:

• Add a recurring subscription plan that allows auto-renewals (PayPal subscriptions)
  • Each plan will have an option to be marked as recurring.
  • A user can cancel a subscription at any time which will cancel the recurrence.
  • A recurring plan will automatically update the role expiry when renewed.
  • Recurrence is not available on plans that do not expire

• Category Support – Jack, can you point me to the thread that discusses this?

• Joining Fee
• Further customisation of screens (re: putting description underneath the plan)
• Can you describe in more detail the trial plan you mentioned, I imagine it would add them to a role for a period of 7 days (or however long you define). You would only be able to do this once. It would most likely add you to a special role, one that lets you view content but not download, etc. This aspect would be up to your site security to define.
• Subscription Signup Email: it should already send an invoice, you could customise that today.
• Somehow include the registration process. What about 3rd party registration modules? How many people use them on this thread?

I’ve been thinking about ways to reward “active” subscribers, either via a discount on renewal or charging a setup fee for non-established subscribers. This would be a typical model I think for most subscription sites and functionality that would be great in the module.

Gret question Jack, I would have thought they would be tied to a plan. You then have the option to have it lower on a longer period plan (if you decided too).

As for waiving a fee generally, maybe the addition of "promotional codes" would fix that?
