I realize this question has been asked before (and feature requested as I voted for it), but is there any ETA on when the recurring subscription charges will be added - either as default or optional between one time charges or recurring?  I bought this module thinking that it worked this way only to find out now that it doesn't do the recurring charges like the core Manage Services does.  I really like this module and want to continue using it, but my boss doesn't feel the same way as me if it can't support the recurring subscriptions charges.

I built the module initially to cover the issue that recurring subscriptions were causing me (e.g. I didn't realize it would auto-bill me again, etc). It would be nice to support both methods, but I cannot give an estimate of when It will be in yet. If you would like to help sponsor the changes (support@ventrian.com), I can provide a firm estimate.

I asked Scott the same thing via an email but never got an answer.  I would like to know too.

Sponsor the changes means assist with the requirements and pay for the development, I charge half price for extensions to existing modules ($40/hr).

Sorry for missing this one.

How long will it take and when would it be ready? I need this badly but would need to know when it would be ready. (Maybe toss in category support too)

Hi Jack,

If you contact me directly, we can probably work something out on recurring charges.

I assume you mean PayPal subscriptions?

OK Everyone. After exchanging some emails with Scott it sounds like this will cost between $160 and $320 to get the following:

Each plan will have the option to be “recurring”

A recurring plan will create a subscription in PayPal

A user can cancel a subscription at any time which will turn auto-billing off.

If auto-billing is on, when they are auto-billed it will automatically update the role.

The recurring option will not be available on plans that do not expire.

Would this suite everyones needs?
I'm in for 20% of the total cost, can we get 4 more at the same?

I'd be happy to contribute 25% of 360 or 50% of the $160. Just let me know what needs to be worked out to get it done and an ETA.

I would add one more thing here that I'm not sure will happen based on the above, can the admin allow the user to select Auto Billing On or Off?

Yes, why not.
Someone also once suggested a free test period which is a great idea.

So, is this going to happen and what need we do to get it rolling? Not a lot of discussion needed as much as a simple "get'r done" thing.

This is normally done by offering them a cancel link that will cancel the auto-renewal of the subscription.

They would still have access to the expiry date.

Looking at the thread, we have 45% of the 360 amount.

Hi Scott,

With our new DNN Professor subscription site in production, it is crucial that we get a solid subscription model that we can rely on.

It is also important that I understand where the module development is headed so we can produce the training screencasts for the subscription module and promote it on DNN Professor.

Our basic needs are:

one-month automatic renewal subscription (cancel any time).................................

Example:

You can subscribe by using our secure online order form. This will give you immediate access to the full site. (You can also subscribe using a check or money order or PayPal.)

Subscription Expired?
If your subscription has expired Click here to renew

If that takes contributing 25 bucks to the cause, please inform me of the proceedure to get you the money.

Keep up the good work, my friend. I have many clients that rely on you everyday.

Jack and the others - Thanks for leading the charge on this

Buck
