I want to use the subscription tools however some of my plans will be free. I need to subscription so I can maintain mailing lists etc however I do not want to use both subscription tools and the core module. When using the core for a free subscription it does not process through the pay pal, why would it.

With subscription tools is there an easy way to by pass the paypal routine if the value of the plan is set to 0?

cheers

Heh - interesting avatar.

There is not a current mechanism to do this, but it seems like a very simple addition. I'll see what I can do.

Scott,

While on this topic, have we received the full amount that you required to make the Subscription Tool modifications.

Let me know when we are close so we can join in a final feature list conversation.

One feature that I would really like to see implemented is a coupon code feature that would allow the subscriber to use this code on another developers sight to receive a discount on their subscription.

Example at the 10,000 foot thinking level:

If I partnered with another subscription site on my subscription site. When my vistors subscribe to my site they get a bonus of a percentage off the partner's subscription site.

When they receive thir subscription confirmation email, a discount code is received in the email. The first partner could have a subscription setup that when the coupon code is entered the discount is applied.

This would save a lot of headaches where you would need to receive your subscription payment and then manually go to the partners site to subscribe in your new subscribers behalf.

Yep, I've received the offers for the final amount, are you talking about recurring subscriptions and coupon codes right?

I think coupon codes in general would solve your problem Buck. You would create a discount coupon for your subscriptions (e.g. 10%) and give the code to your partner site.

When people signup at the partner site, they are sent that coupon code or it is displayed in the member section.

Having seen Scott add a feature that I (and others) wanted into Simple Gallery, I'm just going to bump this one to see if it can be added to the Subscriptions module.

Cheers

Has this been implemented yet? If not, any idea when the next release is coming out with this feature?

Currently I get around it by manually add a receipt and that auto add a user to a Subscription role. But I gree a free plan would be a better solution.

Hi Scott,

I also need a free plan on my site. Are we looking at any timeframe when this would be ready?

Thanks

Bump... I could really use this option as well... Is there a timeframe for the update or a creative work around?

The feature I really need is to be able to offer a 30 day trial to visitors that put in a special code. That way they can subscribe and try it for free for 30 days then get reminded to upgrade to a paid subscription.

Friendly Bump, Do you have a release date for the new version of this module? I really need this to go live with a demo of my services for free.

High Regards,

Dan Ambrose

Scott, First I want to tell you how much I appreciate your excellent DNN modules. Even more than that is the dedication you have shown to your customers by relentlessly updating your products and offering best in class customer support.

The purpose of the free plan-
1. Get's potential customers to register at my website.
2. Exposes them to quality content to help them maximize their DNN investment.
3. Provides an automated way for me to keep track of them and drive them to subscribe after the trial period has ended.

I would like to have the free plan notify them that it's ending a couple of times before it's up(example 30 to 60 days free access). Then in the reminder e-mails it can have a link to subscribe. I would really like them to be able to put in a *discount code* when they register so I can determine who sent them to me.

Thank you,
Dan Ambrose
