I have developed a website for a charitable organization that now wants to take online donations. I understand that I need to have them sign up for a PayPal business account to accept credit cards. My question is do I have control over the time period and whether the donation is a recurring or one-time donation? Consider the following scenarios: I want to donate $10.00 per month recurring until I cancel I want to make a one-time donation of $10.00. I wante to donate $10.00 per month for a year. Any feedback would be appreciated.

Currently subscriptions tools are non-recurring, the user gets notified of when their subscription is expiring and are provided with the option to renew. This sounds like it wouldn't work for you, I use it on this site because I don't like people forgetting that they are signed up and auto-billed again. (instead they can back when they need something). What you are suggestion is the #1 enhancement request for subscription tools.

Thanks for the quick reply Scott. I am going to try and convince the charitable org that they can at least take one-time donations and see how that is working. If this enhancement is #1, then by the time the enhancement is completed, they should have a good idea of how their online donations are going and the enhancement can only benefit that further.

Another nice feature here would be the ability for the user to specify the amount. Can that be done?

OK, I have floated the balloon to some users on the ability to use this as a one time or recurring donation tool and they are foaming at the mouth. It would require the ability for the user to specify an amount. If it can be done I'll add it to the feedback center.
