I haven't used Child Links on a public site yet, but here is a link to my site that has a screen shot from an intranet site I am doing that uses Child Links.  The part circled in red is the child links module.

Child links allowed me to create a dictionary on this site...

Duhaime's Legal Terms Starting with A

By request, I shall explain a bit more about the Duhaime site.

It was made by a lawyer in Canada around 1994 making it one of the first online legal dictionaries. It stayed in html format with a couple little changes under recently when we converted it to DNN. The dictionary section was contained in ~20 alpha pages (ie Terms Starting with A) but this restricted the descriptions to a few sentences. In the legal world a definition can be many pages (ie Abatement or Contract Law) so the terms were broken into individual DNN pages where the author could have free reign. Also, we chose individual DNN pages over a glossary application for design freedom and SEO considerations. Each term page uses a brief definition as the meta-description. The Child Links module allowed the original alpha pages to be recreated by using a definition list in the template. The dt is the page name and the dd is the description. Now, those that want a quick understanding can use just the alpha pages with less clicking needed to get the information.

Hi!

We're using it at our website:

Nukedesigners.com

Both in home page for navigation and also I'm using it as

kind of a "catalog template" with the subscription sign up module. That is in the "product catalog" page.

Thanks.
