Thank you for providing the feedback, I'll look into your suggestions and see how best to modify.
Do you have any examples of 3rd party eCard apps you like elsewhere?
Richard, I'll see you it now. |

Scott,
very quick thought ... why not adding the e-card functionality to the simplegallery module? May be worth a thought before putting a lot of work into an extra mdoule and find out that code is possibly duplicated.
Links to 3rd party ecard apps will follow tomorrow - bedtime in western europe...

Scott-
I tested out the module yesterday. Here are some suggestions: I would like to set up a few default categories, and then add ecards to the categories. When I add the image file to the ecard body, I would like a thumbnail generated for the "teaser" along with my brief description. It would be nice to have a html editor for the message space so users can customize their message. Great module! Can't wait for an upcoming version! |

Scott,
Thanks for sending the module. I like it. Here's what I like
- You can setup a teaser for the card
- You can put whatever you want into the card
Here are some suggestions (most are duplicative)
- Read card without authentication
- Need the ability to change where sender's text is put (above, below, left right)
- View Options for
- Default for where sender's Text display (above, below, left, right)
- Number of cards per page and line
- CSS Templates (items or pictures)
- Need to be able to customize the email text
- Need to be a little more intuitive on the Edit Content screen. It wasn't clear what each of the things in the drop down were
- While freedom to put whatever you want into the card is good I agree that most of my admins are going to want to plug and chug (i.e. let me choose a picture and let the end user enter the text they want added to the card). If they want to add text then they will add it to the graphic. The teaser can be a thumnail of the picture.
- I would LOVE to see it integrated with Simple Gallery or somehow linked so I could choose photos from it
- Albums?
- Categories? (just a wild idea, could be implemented with albums)
This is going to be a wonderful addition to your offerings! Richard |

I am new to dnn and don't have any programming knowledge.
I installed the module in a shared hosting plan and have had no luck with the module. I get the teaser without registering but not the actual card. Furthermore, once the e-card is sent the recipient is sent a message about "a baby event" and a dead link.
Can someone help?
many thanks

Hi Scott
I need a very simple e-cards module and this very urgent, I'm migrating an PHP site to a DNN-Portal. Do you can provide your e-cards package to test and probably use it?
Thank you and best regards

Hi Scott,
I just stumbled across this thread and realised that the ecard functionality would be ideal for a site I am just finishing.
Could you send me the current module for testing?
Cheers |

I'm holding up sending out the module for a few days until I tidy up, it seems there is a hardcoded reference to "a baby event".
Send me an email at support@ventrian.com if you would like a copy in the meantime, given that it has this issue. |

| We're starting development on a site which incorporates an ecard function. I would love to give yours a shot but from the sounds of it we would probably need some customizing to suit our needs. |

Hi Scott
Would love to try your ecard module. I am just finishing up a site for a musician and they want to send ecards. How would I go about getting it? |

Hello Scott,
Like the last poster, my name is also Mark. My wife and her friends have a graphic art forum at www.allthatchat.net where your ecard module would be great. Are you still planning to release this module? I think it is a definate winner.
Thank you,
Mark K. |

| I released it to a few people and received some feedback, the most comprehensive is above. If there is significant interested, I'll spend a few hours moving it to the DNN 4.5.5+ and release. |

I am very keen to use this module, please release it.
Can you provide a quick summary of the modules features please?
