I'm soon going to run a photo-contest on my website and i'm wondering which module to use..
It would be great to have the opportunity to let each member vote on images, but only have the ability to vote once. Does anyone have any suggestions to this challange?

Sounds like a good suggestion, what do people think about adding extra options to the admin side of things? I still need to keep the module simple from a user's perspective.

Just wondering...are you going to put this feature in Simple Gallery? If ( true ) { return caDateOfRelease; };

Not in the next week, but maybe after that. I'll be implementing users uploads, passwords for simple gallery very soon, and then some news article releases.

Very importan not to forget :

Ability to -

1. Add comment on each photo uploaded
2. Ranking of each photo

And an extra module to show :
1. Top 10(or xx) photos
2. Best posters (the ones that sent the most photos)
Including a thumbnail/description/name of sender (a way to check what to show) of each photo.

Scott,

Just my opinion.. I think you should break into two code streams... one being for the "Simple Gallery" and the other one to compete with "Gallery" on the .php side of things.  Everyone and their mother who use .php use Gallery.  Very feature rich, but in my opinion still easy to use.

You maybe right, I'll check out gallery for php, I haven't seen some of the admin screens for it.

Quite, simple and not as elegant as it should be approach...

Put up an instance of Simple Gallery that displays the entries.  Once all the entries are in, use the Survey module to allow everyone to vote.

IMO, the functionality and requirements for running a contest really doesn't have a place in the simple gallery module.   I think it requires it's own indepedant module.

bah... I messed up the quoting in my post.

Also I meant to say  "Quick, simple and not as elegant..."
