Hi Guys,

Just a quick update. PayPal Express checkout has been implemented and fullly tested. SOE for category and product has been improved. One more category display template has been introduced. Store front navigation has been improved. Some new features like minimum order amount, minimum product quantity, etc, have been done. Some issues found in beta 1 has been fixed. We're working on beta 2 install package.

For those who are interesed in beta testing, please send an email message to beta@alicommerce.com with your username in this forum or DNN forum from a non-free email. This will helps us identify which forum users are beta testers and who they are.

By the way, this is our last beta. It will be released soon after.

Thanks a lot.

Frank

Hello Frank,

I think an effective pricing strategy would be go aim low initially. There are tons of eCommerce modules currently available, and I would say there is quite the monopoly on the market with CATALook at the moment. This is an opportunity for AliCommerce to make an impact on the market, and if you were to give an overall positive impression that the content was much more valuable than the price offered, I would sure creating a pricing strategy for future updates would keep people enticed.

I would have to say making a subscription based module such as Ventrian among others is a solid idea too. Customers would essentially be paying for the module itself, and say, their price will cover a duration of time of free updates, at which point of expiration, a new subscription would be needed where previous customers are eligible for a discount).

Adapt what you wish, but affordability and being the underdog in a market is never a bad thing.. Especially since you're module has a ways up before it can reach the popularity of modules such as CATALook.

Good luck! I'm interested in what I'm seeing by the way!

Hi Raz,

I have on my todo list creating several sceencast tutorials on the DNN builtin modules and viedo tutorials on Scott's modules.

The store is on that list.
