Does anybody know and can recommend a good e-commerce module ? It does not have to be free.
Just looking for the best one  full with features. |

I'm about to need one myself. Something that will support the same prodcut offering across portals. It looks like this may do the job.

From what I can tell, this will allow products to flow from host to child. If I understand it right you can also control what products flow based on category, is that right?
And pricing is set by host and or child, or just host? |

Renewing this thread with new inquiry:
I'am looking for some kind of e-commerce module. But not the one that do all the job (no payment gateway implementation).
Just a module which can generate a catalog (list) of products (5.000 - 15.000) with description (no special need for pictures), option to group products, sub grouping, search implemented, role management implemented, orders by name, code, quantity, review orders, and send that orders (with data - text, excell or ...) by e-mail to company with copy to the customer. And yes, simple update catalog - price list with ... text or excell stylesheet, for example.
Does anyone know any module with capabilities similar to this ?

Just wanted to bring this matter up once more.
Has anybody find the "Best" e-commerce, store module solution yet
Is CataLook the best in the market so far 
The standard store module in DNN is promising but has a long way to go to be qualified as a valid store module.

The Settings/Optins for Catalook is just way too complex than it needs to be. I don't mean to downplay the functionality of it, because it does have tons of features packed in, but the UI of the whole system is just way to overwhelming.
But that's just my 2 cents.. |

| I took a stab at commerce starter kit, but I am just using paypal buynow button's and their cart, so it was overkill for my situation. I have geri-rigged a dnn portal with Iframes hosting plain old HTML pages with tables displaying my product pics, details, and the buynow button. It is alot of work if you have a bunch of products. |

Catalook is a good product. Yes, a little learning curve.
The only thing I don't like about it is the load time. When it comes to selling online, you don't want to make the customer wait. I would think that this load time would improve if the store is being hit constantly.

Exactly! Overwhelming just to set it up, but also tough to navigate for shoppers.
I can't wait for this to be released! |

yes...i have tried catalook too and i eventually gave up, because it is far too complex to set up, and as you have said it is hard to navigate for users ......
but yes, AspDotNetStorefront DNN looks promising ... but we have to wait for this one |

I've used both Catalook and AspDotNetStorefront (the stand alone vesion). All things considered, Catalook has the most flexibility (both functionally and from a license perspective) but ASP is definately easier to setup and maintain and much more intuative for users. To get Catalook to present well you need to really get into some skinning changes.
I'm curious to see how AspDotNetStorefront's licensing module matches up with DNN. They have been getting $399 - $899 per store. Catalook is $69 - $99 per DNN portal. I also think the ability to share a catalog across portals is useful in vertical apps.

Aspdnsft is definatley going to be the standard for DNN and E-Commerce I have built various sites with it and It has the most power.
Even DNN it self is using ASPDNSF.
However the integration is going SOOO slow... they were supposed to have a beta out in December 06, Its Mid May 07 and nothing...Some of the guys working said you can expect a beta out in sometime August 2007... thats still a beta.
Commerce Starter Kit looks promissing but it still has a long way to go before it can catch up with ASPDNSF.
Scott have you talked with the guys over at aspdnsf? Some of your modules would be really nice if they could integrate with it. e.g. a simply gallery module displaying indidual produts. |

We used XMod with PayPal shopping cart... Works pretty well, though we don't have hundreds of items.  I did look at using Catalook, and Portal Store, was JUST was too many settings, and honestly took a long time to enter a new item to the store. With our XMod store I can enter an item in a VERY short period of time.
