I just had this very strange problem on my church site www.tinlanhmelbourne.com.au - two hour ago ALL the pages content just disappeared ! And I cant see any page content acept for the Articles subpages.

My login page was set to the welcomepage and since I cant see any modules on any of the pages now I cant even login !

one possible explaination i could think of is portal expiration . This church site was originally a subportal and it was set to expired by today! Some week ago this church subportal was separated so it run on its own database and it was running fine up untill two hrs ago!

is this what could happen when a portal/ subportal expired?  How do I find a way to login again?

there used to be a trick of adding ?ctl=login to the url, which would bring up a default login page, not sure if it works with newer versions (well it does with my 4.6, but I haven't got a special login page).  Failing that, are you on a dedicated server?  If so, you could try putting the date back a couple of days to see if that revives it.

Thanks for the tips. I found out that adding ?ctl=login to the ur do not work. Also restore the site to an earlier date did not make any difference. However John Mitchell method did allow me to login to the site again ..and I was able to correct the problem. The problem btw was exactly What I suppected - Portal was set to expired on 29/09/2007 . I removed the expiration date and now I can see all pages again. I thougth that dnn would at least warn portal admin in advance about expiration date. Or at the very least still allow host role access !

Appearantly Mr. DNN is a tough guy! :)
