I recently upgraded my site to DNN 4.5.5 and now the Venture skins admin and host tabs do not work. When I click on them I get redirected to my home page. So now I cannot access any of my admin or host menu items. Has anyone see this same behavior, or does anyone have this same set up on 4.5.5 with the Venture skins and have it working just fine?

Hmm, it looks like the host & admin pages that it links too are now disabled.

The only option I really have is to run something that sets the admin & host page to not be disabled. Do you see any issues with that?

I've made the changes, can you try it out? All you need to do is reinstall the skin object.

The new skin still has the issue. I have uploaded the new skin but the admin and host menu still does not work. I can change the tabDisable link value to False and it works but than that link is also active for other skins if we change to a different skin and different skins don't need that to be False. Most other skins that value is true.

Hmm, the code should auto change it to false. Are you saying that it's not doing this?

This skin needs it to be false, because it's the only way to get that page to the list of child links.

Correct it is not doing this. I still have to manually go in and change the database value. I installed the updated skin over the old skin. I than changed the skin to something else and then back to your skin and admin menu did not work. The value in the database was still true.

Yes. I downloaded the zip file for your forums that note it has a fix for 4.5.5. I then installed the new zip and it overwrote my existing skin. I then chagned skins to something else and then back to the Venture skin. When I clicked on "admin" it still did not work and did not show me the admin tool bar menu. I looked in the database and the value was still set to "false" for that tab.

When you say you overwrote your skin, did you go into "Host -> Module Definitions" and upload the "Skin Objects", not just the skin.

Yes, it did work as I had not loaded the new objects. However now host menu does not work on any other skins.

Because it's not disabled anymore? The only way this skin works is if the host menu is not disabled when you click on it.

I'm not sure how else it can be resolved?

When you say the other skins don't work, how do you mean?

Sorry for the lack of detail. It does not work because on other skins when I mouse over the host menu I no longer get the drop down menu for host. I can click on it and get a blank page but no menu. I can also still click on Admin in a different skin now and get a black page. So the flag does not get changed back to True when user switches to a different skin.

Hmm, in which scenario do you have 2 skins in a portal at once running?

Sorry for some reason I did not get an an e-mail letting me know you responded.

Not sure what you are asking by that questions. I have your skin loaded as well as the default DNN skins (in my case the default blue skin). I change the skin to your skin and admin and host work fine. I switch back to the DNN blue and now when I mouse over hose menu item I get no dropdown box for the host menu items.

Does that answer your question?

Any update on this? I have verified that it is the DnnForge.Venture.SkinObjects.dll that is causing this. As soon as I update that dll and reset my application pool the host menu on all other skins that I switch to will not work (the dropdown list for host menu goes away and it acts like the host menu does not have any child menu items).
