Does anyone know if a module exists (core or free preferably) that you can add text/html to, but the module disappears whenever there is no content in it?

I basically want an announcement module, but if there are no announcements, I want the entire module to disappear. Is this possible?

Thanks.

Would using an existing module and setting the display container property to false work?

I did think of that with the announcement module, but without a container, it actually doesn't fit real well with my design. So I'd rather be able to show the container on the module, but still have it disappear when there is no content.

It should be simple to take one of the core modules and make it do this. Even the text/html module.

I tried doing it with the html/text module, and thought when I gave a user access to edit the module, he would also be able to edit the settings (ie., make it viewable when there is content in there, hide it when there wasn't). but of course he can't do that unless he's a full admin.

so if there's a simple way, I can't figure it out. LOL

When you say hide the module, the only way would be to delete it or change permissions.

If you were a developer, you could probably do something that hides the entire module if there were no content in it.
