Might someone reply with the steps to set up Child sites on a portal please?

Would also like to have recommendations for document managment modules.

Thanks,
Scott Lesnet

  1. Navigate to Host > Portals.
  2. Select Add New Portal from the Portals module menu.  This will go to the Signup module.
  3. At Portal Setup, complete the following fields:
    1. At Portal Type, select Parent.
    2. At Filter By Group (optional), select from the following options:
      1. : View all roles (both global and group roles) in one single list.
      2. : View roles that not within a Group.
      3. : Each Group will be listed individually. Select a group to view roles within that group.
    3. In the Portal Alias field, enter an alias for the site (e.g. http://www.dnnguide.com/ChildSite).
    4. In the Home Directory field (optional), click Customize and enter the new location for the site's home directory (relative to the DotNetNuke installation root directory). Note: Click Customize a second time to return to default setting.
    5. In the Title field, enter the name of the site (e.g. DNNGuide).
    6. In the Description field, enter description of the site (e.g. DNN Online Help In PDF Format).
    7. In the Keywords field, enter the key words to be associated with the site (e.g. DNNGuide, Training, Manual, DotNetNuke, DNN).
    8. At Template (optional), select a DotNetNuke template from the drop down list.
  4. At Security Settings, complete the following fields:
    1. In the First Name field, enter the first name of the Site Administrator.
    2. In the Last Name field, enter the last name of the Site Administrator.
    3. In the Username field, enter a User Name for the Site Administrator.
    4. In the Password field, enter a password for the Site Administrator.
    5. In the Confirm field, re-enter the password for the Site Administrator.
    6. In the Email field, enter the email address for the Site Administrator.
  5. Click Create Portal.
