other than using the gdcMyPage Module and changing DNN3 core, does

Can you be more specific and tell us what it is that you want to achieve (ie the user experience).  Is it the same content source only filtered by user or is it different content altogether.  Which DNN modules are you planning to use?

i'm creating a portal for underground artists.  i've got two types
of roles: listeners and artists.  during registration the user
selects whether they're a listener or artist.  after an artist
gets registered i'd like to send them their personal tab where they can
update their pictures, music, bio, store, etc.  i'll have custom
modules on the artist tab for each of the above functions.  a
listener can then browse artist profiles and comment, vote, or rate
artist pictures, music, bio, store, etc.

the key for me here is being able to create user-based tabs.  the
easiest way i think i can do this is to also assign each artist their
own role.  but that's ugly.  i can potentially get thousands
of artist registrations.

any suggestions?

Curly, I have a friend who is doing exactly the same thing!

You can set the user page in site settings, but that sends all
registered users to that page. But maybe if the modules were "user
sensitive" or somethin?

that's my plan -- creating user-sensitive modules.  it's the tab
that's giving me problems.  i'd like the artist tab to be
visible when they login but still hidden from all other users.  i
can set the user page in site settings, but the problem it's the same
tabid for all users so that doesn't work.  the only options i can
see are changing core or adding each user their unique role.

Scott, i'd like to link up with your friend and exchange ideas.
