I tried running it on a later version of DNN and it needs to be upgraded. If I can get some spare time tomorrow, I'll upgrade it.

Hello Scott,

Any new info on gettting this module to work in the 4.x versions of DNN?  I am still very interested in this product and from what I can see on this forum, there is quite an interest.

I can only imagine that there are many "community" types of sites with forums that would love to also have the e-card module.  I am sure it would be a great seller on Snowcovered and/or DNN Marketplace.

Thanks,

Mark

It's not multi-lingual robrecht (well, it has label localisation).

I've done a partial upgrade, just testing some of the features now. It will still require some work to get it to a quality standard, but it can do all the features on that demo site.

This sounds perfect for a project I am completing for a night club.

Any news on a release?

I am sending an updated build to another client today, if it works out OK, I will be posting on this site.

I've just put a 4.5.5 version in the download section.

I'll be now looking at Richard's earlier suggestions, please post future suggestions in this thread.

Ok - looking at few of the suggestions posted on this thread:-

Layout - part of the original requirement for the module was that the eCard be html. The problem with this is that it's difficult to control for the inexperienced users. Maybe an image would be better? Would the teaser also be an image?

Email Customisation - ability to customise the emails.

Read card without authentication

Default for where sender's Text display (above, below, left, right)

Number of cards per page and line

Need to be a little more intuitive on the Edit Content screen. It wasn't clear what each of the things in the drop down were

Linked to simple gallery images?

Albums/Categories

Here are some other examples, examples (uses flash)

Yes, images from a simple gallery album

Number of cards per page and line Yes

Need to be a little more intuitive on the Edit Content screen. It wasn't clear what each of the things in the drop down were  Yes please

Linked to simple gallery images? Yes, see 1st point

If images do become an alternative to the text/html, are we saying simple gallery is a requirement? or should the module handle uploads of images too?

I suppose it should have it's own image upload process but integration with Simple Gallery seems an obvious choice as the image upload, thumbnail generation, user security etc etc. already exists.

I agree with image upload, however would like to see an admin option to specify an existing folder. For instance, I use UltraMedia Gallery and would like to use folders in that gallery. I see the point for using Simple Gallery as well.

When you say point it to a folder in the file manager (ultramedia gallery), would all photos in that folder be selectable?

I guess what I'm trying to get at, is should you create each card individually by going add new card and selecting a photo in the file manager/upload/simple gallery. Or should you just point it at a directory of photos and have all available for selection?

I would say that with Simple Gallery integration you would assign an album(s) as the source for eCards, this would then allow you to setup security/access to this album(s) thus controlling who could add images for eCards without having to give access to the eCard module itself.

If this approach is done, I believe folder permissions can be controlled by DNN under the file manager. Don't know how it would effect Simple Gallery permissions.

Hey Scott - I'm not sure if this module will fit our requirements but it is very close. What I am looking for is a module that will automatically send cards to our registered members at selected intervals and on things like their birthday. Would this module work for that purpose? Thanks Pat

Just tested this new ecard module... It works (I sent video)! Thank you! Can't wait for the full featured version coming out... :-)
