This is a odd one that has me completely stumped.

We have 3 versions of a site (dev,staging,production).

Currently the WAT and UsersOnline works fine on Dev and Staging

but on Production , we get 0's
I went table by table, and each stored proc and do not see anything that would be different.

My settings:

Disable Users Online? is Not checked.

  Online Now:

I've hit the webconfig, restarted the application, even had the schedule do a catch up. Nothing..
it's odd because Staging and Production are the same database, only thing different is servers..

any idea's? I've run out of them :(

Which version of dnn are you running, there are issues with WAT in 4.9 owing to scheduler see www.dotnetnuke.com/Comm.../Default.aspx

Found the problem.
Our production environment has a different timezone then the database.

so when :

DELETE from dbo.UsersOnline WHERE LastActiveDate < DateAdd(minute, -@TimeWindow, GetDate())

is called, getdate() uses the timezone of the DB, not the timezone of the DNN site.
So it sees the user as having a last activity of min a hour and deletes them.


Might want to pass in a date with UTC time instead?
