I've posted a new build for News Articles in the downloads section (members only).
Some major changes have occurred in templating and layout, although most should have little effect on existing templates.
Specifically, they are:-
- Syndication page removed.
- Categories page renamed to “Archives” and a different layout applied.
- Search page rewritten to have a single text search and using listing template for display.
- Addition of a new “Standard” template. This will be the new default for all “new” installs. If you have an existing template called “Standard”, consider renaming it before upgrading.
- Removal of “Blog”, “Expandable” templates from new installs.
- Upgrade of “Default” template to match in with new layout templates (see below).
- The view article page will no longer reference View.Header.Html, View.Footer.Html, Comment.Header.Html, Comment.Item.Html and Comment.Footer.Html. All of these files have been combined into a single View.Item.Html. Comments are now referenced through a new [COMMENTS] token that can be embedded anywhere in the View.Item.Html template. For existing templates, the code will automatically combine these files.
- Print.Header.Html, Print.Item.Html and Print.Footer.Html combined into just Print.Item.Html.
- Comment form can be included on the View.Item.Html by using [POSTCOMMENT]
- Rating form can be included on the View.Item.Html template by using [POSTRATING]
- New Tokens:-
- Listing.Header.Html, Listing.Footer.Html: [LINKNEXTURL], [LINKPREVIOUSURL]
- Listing.Item.Html, View.Item.Html: [AUTHORLINK], [COMMENTRSS], [POSTCOMMENT], [POSTRATING], [TITLEURLENCODED]
- Comment.Item.Html: [GRAVATARURL]
- Module.css emptied of hardcoded styles.
- Template.css loaded on all pages (including archives, search page).
- Comments now support Gravatars.
- Comments will now automatically link urls in the comment detail.
- Comments now support BBCodes, specifically: [quote][/quote], [b][/b], [i][/i], [u][/u]
- Anonymous people posting comments will now have their Name, Email and Website saved in a cookie so they do not have to re-enter it.
- If the featured (Listing.Featured.Html) template is blank or doesn’t exist, the module will use Listing.Item.Html.
- Added an additional filter in latest articles, you can now filter on a comma separated list of ArticleIDs, e.g. 58,59,60.
Fixed Bugs Include:-
- RSS has now been fixed to use correct category filters and display appropriate description depending on whether or not the summary has been filled in.
- Search now sorts by correct field (as specified in admin options)
- My articles now sorts by correct field (as specified in admin options)
- Removed reference to “newsListing” in the url as it is the default view anyway.
- Removed old create article styles from module.css
- Archive module will now show expired articles in counts and allow you to view them when clicked on.
- Archive module will no longer show pending articles in counts.
- Archive module will now use launch links setting from the module it is linking to (rather than having its own setting)
- On the create article page, the cursor will be placed in the title box by default.
- Articles with titles such as “My – Article – Title” will no longer have double - - in the url.
- Comment Captcha validator is now properly enabled to give visual notification of failure.
- PingBack/Trackback should now work again.
Thanks again for your assistance. |
