I've posted a new build for News Articles in the downloads section (members only).

New Functionality Includes:-

• Redesign of the "Create Article" form to be grouped into:-
  • Create (Body, Attachments [Link, Image], Summary/Excerpt)
  • Organize (Categories)
  • Publish (Change Author, Feature, Secure, Publish Date, Expiry Date)
  • Action (Status, Command Buttons)
• Summary is no longer required and has been moved below the body text area. This will affect existing articles as follows:-
  • Articles that previously had just a summary will have the summary copied to the body of the article and then removed as the summary (see tokens below for template changes).
  • No changes to articles that had a summary and detail.
• New tokens to support the summary changes:-
  • [HASSUMMARY][/HASSUMMARY]
  • [HASNOSUMMARY][/HASNOSUMMARY]
  • [DETAILS:XXX] displays the XXX number of characters from the body of an article (first page). The html will also be removed.
• Templates have been changed to better handle [SUMMARY], it will now be [HASSUMMARY][SUMMARY][/HASSUMMARY][HASNOSUMMARY][DETAILS:150][/HASNOSUMMARY]. You may need to update your own templates.
• The list of tokens has been updated.
• You can now turn off features in the "Create Article" form via "Admin Options" -> "Main Options" -> "Security Settings". These features include:-
  • Categories
  • Excerpt
  • Image
  • Link
  • Publish Date
  • Expiry Date
  • Secure
  • Feature

Thanks again for your assistance. The next change will be an implemetation of an "Article Manager" to combine "My Articles", "Approve Articles" and to provide better management functionality.
