Scott, where can we change the background of the shoutbox? I put it on my dev box which has a gradient background to the skin (same skin as on http://www.gmss.org) and the shout area displays the top of the gradient. I looked at the .aspx and can't see any classes setting the background. I'm guessing it's the IFrame that's causing the problem but I'm not positive.

Hmm, currently it applies the skin to the shoutbox, I might add an option not to apply skin, would this solve your problem?

http://dnn.gmss.org/ForScott/tabid/53/Default.aspx just for you

For a base color skin it would work fine but when you get into some of the funkier skins that are released it causes problems. I've got an idea that I'll try today as a workaround.

Shouldn't really apply the container instead of the skin?

It depends, some people apply there background colours in the skin (e.g. body), that was why I originally had included the skin.

Maybe just an overridable background property, or another customisable style sheet would be better (so you could override the skin stylesheet)

That's the workaround I was going to try.

Maybe a color-picker (if there's a free one out there) option?

I created my own colour picker for private messages (customising the popup in view options). It just uses a dropdown of the named colours in .net, would that do?

Forgot about that one Scott. That would work perfectly for just about everyone and save you from getting this question again.

Did anyone ever incorporate a fix for this problem into the module releases? I'm having the same problem with the program using the skin's background and the skin's background is the same color as "normal" text. How do you customize the background or the text color without affecting any other areas at all. I don't want to override the skin's background color or text color outside of the Shout Box module? How do I customize the colors INSIDE the Shout Box?

Anyone have any advice on how to go about fixing this problem? Where would the edits need to be made regarding the settings for the background only? What file? What line or code? Or is it somewhere in the module css? Help? Anyone?
