Hello, first thanks for a wonderful set of modules; I'm enjoying them greatly!

Next, I have noticed odd behavior with Safari and the news article. It seems to force the skins to full width, even using the default dnn skins. It also broke my own skin that way in a horrible way, but since it does it to the default skins that are fixed width I think it must be something with Safari?

The page renders perfectly in IE, Opera, and FF. Any thoughts? I cannot post a url as this is on my testing server. I am attaching pix of the article page and the home page, with standard dnn fixed skin just so you know it's not my skin.

Thanks for your eyes, and any thoughts.

Mike

BTW, even the dnn menus are spread out the full length of the skin on the articles page. And, I'm using the latest v. of Safari for windows, v. 3.1.2

~thanks!

Hi phillmj,

Can you try the following page? This is actually the new template that will be released with the new version of news articles:-

http://www.ventrian.com/Resources/Articles.aspx

Those templates are actually editable when logged in as a host via admin options. So you can change how the articles render, I'd be keen to know why it breaks in safari. I assume because the table has width 100%?

Hi, thanks for your super quick response! The link you sent me works perfectly in Safari!

Now, I want to say, the articles on my test site render perfectly when I click them and see the complete article--it's only the preview/summary view of them that breaks…weird, hunh? I am really a newbie at dnn, so I have been nervous that this was my bad skin, but when it did it to the default skin I wasn’t so sure. I will try changing the width of the news article; maybe it's the 100% as you say, but then again I have other modules in the fixed width skin whose containers are set to 100% without the problem.

I am really looking forward to the new release; your subscription is fabulous and worth every cent! And besides, the feeling of having someone be helpful, caring, and supportive is priceless. Thanks for your wonderful efforts and offerings!

Dare I ask when you will release the new version?

Thanks!

Mike
