I've stayed away from re-ordering properties for property agent (e.g. what happens when you have 10,000 properties?), how do you re-order them?

Very good point!

You can rest your case - I give in.

I have just used property agent for listing academic jounals and the lecturer wants them in a specific order

i.e
Vol 1 no 1
Vol 1 no 2
Vol 2 no 1
Vol 3 no 3

Cheers anyway, its been a long day

You can sort by a custom field, e.g. title, this should give you that sort order.

Yes I have been trying that but the title sometimes changes

I have tried to add a custom feild dropdown as order with the numbers 1 - 20 in it and then sort on this but that doesnt seem to work either. This one might be a bug - Ill have to do some more testing today

Thanks

Culture and Cosmos Vol 1 no 1 (1997)

Culture and Cosmos Vol 1 no 2 (1997)

Culture and Cosmos Vol 10 no 1 and 2 (2006)

Culture and Cosmos Vol 11 no 1 and 2 (2007)

Culture and Cosmos Vol 2 no 1 (1998)

Culture and Cosmos Vol 2 no 2 (1998)

errmm Problem
Any Ideas

This is text-sorting.
So "Vol 11" comes before "Vol 2".

If you want "Vol 2" to come before "Vol 11" you will have to name it "Vol 02".

Hope this helps,
Joe
