In the Image Uploader, can you add an option (defaulted off?) for:

Preserve Original File Name? Y/N
Prepend to filename [   orig_   ]

That way, the website could be a central storage of images, and not just the website version.. Possibly also "download high res" options on the preview page (defaulted off, or only used if an appropriate token is used in the display templates.

Thanks again!

If you have the setting "Resize Image" unchecked, it will keep the original file and then showing a resized version in the slideshow.

If your using the popup or standard slideshow, you'll also get a link to download the original photo.

I had figured that out, but for performance and bandwidth reasons, I prefer the resized versions of the images.  I just want to keep the "original" on the filesystem as well, and not necessarily link it to the gallery. (Disk space is cheaper than bandwidth)
