When trying to add a photo to an album, a server (not DNN) user/login box pops up looking to authenticate the user.
The Network Service account is correctly set. There are also several dozen portals running on this installation, but the error exhibits itself mostly with the Simple Gallery add photo functionality.
Does anyone have a clue on why this might be happening?
It's IIS 6 on Windows Server 2003. |

| Are you using windows authentication? At the moment, I know there is an issue between flash and windows authentication. |

No, that's not the issue.
What's even more strange is that it works on one portal but not on another within the same DNN installation. |

Finally found the issue on this. I think that one of the "Add New Photo" links isn't constructed correctly, or at least it's the link that causes the authentication prompt.
Of all of the ways to "Add New Photo" - using the the actions menu, the displayed links, etc. - the "Add New Photo" link that is next to "Add New Album" and "Edit Photos" adds a return URL to the link (...Default.aspx?ReturnUrl=...) - the other "Add New Photo" links don't. The links without the return url work correctly.
The attached screenshot shows the link that causes the auth prompt. |

I have encountered the same problem. I am only able to add a photo by using the add photo link in the actions menu.
Has there been any resolution to this issue or has anyone come across a solution to this? |

| It is the flash uploader causing the problem with windows authentication. I am going to try using a later SWFUpload to see if it makes a difference. |

I found a conversation on it here.
If it is in an intranet environment, you could try change the recipient of the uploader (/desktopmodules/simplegallery/uploader.aspx) to anonymous access. I have not tried this however. |

There is no solution except to provide the old method of submit/post or an ajax file uploader.
The flash uploader doesn't handle http authentication at all. |

Scott, I think I am misunderstanding something. How can I make these modules work? They were working before I did an upgrade. Is there code I need to change? If so, what. Is there a setting I need to change? Or is this something that is being changed on your end?

The new version has a "Photo Uploader" that is a flash based uploader with progress bars.
I assume you upgraded from a previous version that did not have this? There is no setting to revert back to the old uploader at the moment.
I assume you are using windows authentication? |

Actually, looking at your other post, you say it's happening in property agent? If so, this is a different issue as the uploader is not in Property Agent.
