I would like to know which tools others use for site moderator. I am using ActiveForums and find no way to properly ban users based on IP address. In fact I cannot find how to view the IP address for a certain post. This was an easy thing to do with PHPBB

So I am interested in hearing how others control problem users at their site.

I can help with the second half of your question. To view the posters IP Address, add [MODIPADDRESS] to the PostInfo template in the Active Forums Control Panel. It will only be available to those security roles that are moderators.

I'm not sure if it should be an AF thing or a DNN thing.

You could always block the IP at an IIS level.. ?

You can ban the User. Click the User's name to bring up his profile. Click the Administrator Settings. Here you can set a caption, Monitor Activity, or Ban the User. You have to be a Admin to access this menu.
