Some serious progress has been made on the Estate Agent module this weekend.

The front screen has been modified to present 3 different areas:-

  • Featured Properties
  • Search Properties
  • Property Types

Each section can be switched off. I've attached a screenshot showing off the property type section, it contains the published property types with the matching properties that allow you to click through ina directory structure.

An administrator can configure "Property Types" and configure "Custom Fields" used by each property. Some custom fields are classed as "Core" can only have certain aspects changed, such as order, caption, etc, other properties can have everything about them change from type (single line textbox, dropdown, etc).

I'm hoping to have some pre-defined templates in the module so when it's first installed, you can select the type of property you want to maintain in that module. (it needs some way to initialize this list of properties).

The first release will not have the company/agent functionality available, but it will be brought out shortly after. I'll be travelling for a few days, but will continue working on it over the next few days.

Thanks again for your interest and patience.

Scott,

Thanks for your update.

Do you have a estimated date in mind?

Is there a version available for testing yet. I'd be happy to test and give feedback as I have had quite a bit of experience with Real Estate sites and currently have Real Estate clients..

A great module to develop..

Thanks!

I'll have some more screenshots out tomorrow, with an initial release to a select few people ready a few days after that.

From initial development so far, it's looking quite flexible and will suit many different things from real estate to cars/boats to even documentation (thanks to the custom properties)
